Blue Air was established in 2004 and its headquarters are at Bucharest Henri Coand? International Airport in Romania. The airline has hubs in Turin, Bacau, Larnaca, Iasi, Cluj, Liverpool and Mihail Kog?lniceanu (Constanta). The largest airline in Romania, it carries more than 5 million passengers annually and operates more than 70 routes. The company has negotiated codeshare agreements with several airlines: Alitalia, Sky Express, Blue Panorama, Air Italy and Hahn Air.

Its fleet includes 29 Boeing 737 planes. The interiors have been retrofitted to include contemporary Recaro seats. Passengers on Blue Air flights are provided with snacks and drinks on selected routes.

The Blue Air online check-in service is free of charge and available to passengers flying on all flights except those departing from Lisbon, Florence, Constanta, Tel Aviv, Palma de Mallorca, Timisoara and Pescara. The service is not available to:

• passengers aged under 18 who are travelling without an adult acting as a parent;
• passengers travelling in an organised group from Milan-Bergamo (Ori al Serio International Airport) who are wait-listed or on standby.

You can check in online between 30 days and 12 hours before your departure time. You'll need to enter either the passenger surname or your contact email address, as well as your booking ID. When you've completed the process, you'll need to print your boarding pass.

Baggage must be checked in at least 90 minutes before your flight is due to leave. If you have hand luggage, you must be at the departure gate at least 60 minutes before your flight departs. Passengers with special needs must be at the airport at least two hours before take-off.

If you‘re from a non-EU/EEA country, you must report to the airport's Blue Air check-in office so your documents can be checked before you go through security. All passengers must have their tickets, boarding passes and ID/passports ready for checking. Your bags may also be weighed and measured.

In accordance with the Blue Air baggage allowance regulations, passengers can usually put up to four pieces of luggage, with total maximum dimensions of 100 cm x 80 cm x 30 cm, in the hold. The maximum weights for each piece of luggage are:

• Small – 20 kg
• Large – 32 kg.

The cost of checking bags in depends on the amount of luggage that you're taking, whether you booked this service during or after completion of the ticket booking process, the route that you've chosen and your travel dates. Your checked-in luggage must not include any dangerous or prohibited items. Valuables and electronic items should be taken in your hand luggage instead.

If you're travelling with an infant (aged two or under), you may be able to take additional baggage free of charge. The amount that you can take will depend on your ticket type. Pushchairs are classed as checked-in baggage.

Cats and dogs can be transported in the hold within special cages (measuring up to 120 cm x 80 cm x 80 cm) on many flights if you have the correct documentation and the correct ticket. The total weight of the animal and cage must not be more than 32 kg. An extra charge applies. No pets can be taken on flights to or from Cologne, flights to Great Britain or flights that depart from Luton.

The Blue Air cabin baggage policy enables each passenger (excluding infants) to take one piece of carry-on luggage with them free of charge. The measurements of this piece of baggage must not exceed 55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm with the wheels, handles and external pockets included or weigh more than 10 kg. You must store it in one of the aircraft's overhead lockers. Other items, such as laptops, handbags or cameras, must be within your carry-on bag.

Small cats and dogs can usually be transported in the cabin within special cages (measuring up to 45 cm x 30cm x 23 cm) if you have the correct documentation and buy the correct ticket. The total weight of the animal and cage must not be more than 6 kg and you must report to the check-in desk with the documentation at least 90 minutes before departure. An extra charge applies. No pets can be taken on flights to or from Cologne, flights to Great Britain or flights that depart from Luton.
