About Onur Air

Onur Air is a low-cost Turkish airline based at Ataturk International Airport. It was founded in 1992 and in 2003, Turkish domestic air transport was deregulated, allowing it to expand and grow its operations. Its headquarters are located in Istanbul. The Onur Air fleet contains 29 aircraft that are a mixture of Airbus A320, A321 and A330 planes. It is Turkey's biggest private airline.

Onur Air flights are most predominately those to domestic cities although it does have some international routes. The airline's fleet serves more than 120 different destinations and carries tens of millions of passengers each year. Prevalent destinations among the Onur Air flights to Turkey include Antalya, Istanbul and Bodrum. Some of the airlines other popular routes include flights to Berlin, Paris, Moscow and Vienna. It has a codeshare agreement with only one other airline, Zagrosjet, and is not a member or affiliate of any airline alliance.

Online check-in

Online check-in is available for Onur Air flights to Turkey and other destinations starting from 24 hours before the flight and closing 2 hours prior to takeoff. Any passengers travelling on a reduced fare, such as children, military personnel or students, are not able to complete check in online. After checking in online passengers will then either print their boarding card or receive a mobile boarding card. Other options are checking in via the company's mobile app or at the airport by visiting one of the check-in counters. If passengers decide to check in at the airport, they should do so at least 90 minutes before an international flight and 1 hour before domestic flights.

Hand luggage allowance

All passengers on Onur Air flights are allowed 1 item of hand luggage per person. This item of hand luggage may weigh up to 8 kg at most. It must also not be any larger than 25 x 45 x 56 cm in size. If passengers wish to take a musical instrument on board a flight, it will not be included as part of the Onur Air baggage allowance for hand luggage and an extra seat will need to be booked and paid for. Cabin baggage that exceeds a passenger's allowance will also need to be checked in as hold luggage instead and the airline will charge a supplementary fee for this.

Checked baggage allowance

Onur Air baggage allowances vary according to the type of ticket booked by a passenger. The allowances for checked luggage are up to 15 kg of luggage on domestic flights and up to 20 kg of luggage on international flights. There is also an allowance of up to 10 kg of luggage for infants, which is the same on both domestic and international flights. The airline will levy a charge for overweight luggage that is set at a predetermined rate for every 6 kg that the luggage is overweight by. If any passengers would like to take sporting equipment on their flight, they can pay an extra fee to do so.
