About Aeromexico

Aeromexico is the country's national flag carrier and has its headquarters plus main hub located in Mexico City. Its secondary hub is situated at Monterrey International Airport. The airline is one of the original SkyTeam alliance members, along with other airlines such as Korean Air, Air France and Delta Air Lines. It has codeshare agreements with many airlines including TAM Airlines, Emirates, WestJet and Copa Airlines . Aeromexico Express, Aeroméxico Connect and Aeromexico Contigo are subsidiaries of the airline.

It boasts a fleet of over 130 aircraft that fly to more than 84 destinations worldwide including a number of American destinations such as Los Angeles, Orlando, Miami and Chicago. Mexican destinations on the other hand include the cities of Tijuana, Chihuahua, Mexicali and Reynosa. Aeromexico also travels to Buenos Aires in Argentina and Havana in Cuba, in addition to the Canadian destinations of Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver, and cities in Europe such as London, Madrid, Amsterdam and Paris.

Online check-in

Passengers can check in online to their Aeromexico flight from 48 hours up until 2 hours prior to the flights departure. In order to check in, passengers must enter their surname and departure airport as well as their reservation code. Once the check in has been completed, passengers are able to either print off their boarding pass right away or have it sent to them by email to be printed at a later date. If the departure airport supports check-in with a mobile device, a mobile ticket can also be sent to their smartphone in order to be used by the passenger. Checking in online will save passengers having to wait in long queues at the airport on the date of departure.

Hand luggage allowance

The amount of hand luggage passengers are allowed to take with them on an Aeromexico flight depends on the flight route they are travelling and the type of ticket purchased. For flights within Mexico, Exconomy Class passengers are allowed to take 1 piece of hand baggage weighing up to 10 kg whereas Clase Premier ticket holders can take luggage weighing up to 18 kg. For most international flights, passengers are allowed to take 1 piece of hand luggage with them weighing up to 10 kg. The size of the baggage may not exceed 56 x 36 x 23 cm. A personal item such as a camera, laptop or small handbag is also allowed on board.

Checked baggage allowance

The amount of checked baggage a passenger can take with them on Aeromexico flights is also dependent on the type of ticket they have purchased as well as their flight route. For domestic flights in Mexico, Economy Class passengers can take 1 piece of hold baggage weighing up to 23 kg whilst those who have purchased a Clase Premier ticket can take 2 pieces of baggage weighing up to 30 kg in total. The size of the luggage dimensions should not exceed 158 cm when added together. For the majority of international flights, Economy Class passengers can take 2 pieces of luggage weighing up to 23 kg, whilst Clase Premier passengers can take up to 3 pieces of luggage weighing up to 23 kg each.
