About Royal Brunei

Royal Brunei Airlines is a state-owned airline for the country of Brunei, and their national flag carrier. The airline's main base of operations is at Brunei International Airport, which is located in Berakas only a short distance away from its headquarters in Brunei's capital of Bandar Seri Begawan. Founded in 1974, it started life with just 2 airplanes. Since then it has expanded significantly, especially during the 1990s, and now has 5 times as many aircraft. Its fleet today consists of 10 Boeing and Airbus planes.

The company now flies to 16 destinations across several continents. Royal Brunei's London Heathrow to Melbourne route, as well as its flights to Singapore, Brisbane and Dubai, are popular with passengers. Although the airline has never joined an alliance, it has codeshare flights with seven airlines, including Myanmar Airways International, Maswings, Garuda Indonesia, Turkish Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Cathay Pacific and Thai Airways International.

Online check-in

Apart from flights leaving Jeddah, online check-in is available on all Royal Brunei Airlines' routes. Checking in online allows passengers to cut down on waiting time at the airport. The airline's online check-in also allows passengers to choose where they will be seated on their flight. Online check-in for Royal Brunei flights is available from 24 hours ahead of departure up until 1 hour prior take-off. Exceptions to this are Royal Brunei Airlines' London and Melbourne flights, where online check-in closes 3 hours before take-off. Passengers who have checked in online but who have baggage to check in must do so 1 hour before their flight at the latest.

Hand luggage allowance

Royal Brunei Airlines baggage allowance is determined by a passenger's ticket type, with Economy passengers, Business class passengers and Infants all having a different allowance. Passengers traveling on an economy fare are entitled to 1 piece of hand luggage with a maximum weight for this set at 7 kg. Business class passengers may bring 2 bags into the cabin, with the total weight required to be less than 12 kg. Each individual item is not allowed to weigh more than 7 kg. Infants who do not have their own seat on the flight are entitled to a bag weighing up to 5 kg. The maximum dimensions for cabin baggage on Royal Brunei flights are 55 x 38 x 20 cm.

Checked baggage allowance

On Royal Brunei flights all ticket classes have an included allowance for checked baggage. Royal Brunei Airlines baggage allowance for passengers in Economy class is up to 20 kg and Business class passengers have an allowance of up to 30 kg. The company offers an extra allowance of 15 kg to students who are traveling to their place of study or returning home from studying. To ensure that only legitimate students take advantage of this offer, Royal Brunei Airlines reviews student IDs and student visas at the check-in desk. If the standard baggage allowance is insufficient, passengers can pre-book additional checked baggage allowance. There will be a charge for any luggage which exceeds either a passenger's free allowance or their pre-booked allowance.

People should not be allowed to bring their own alcohol on board. We had 3 people drinking vodka during an overnight flight and keeping everyone on the plane awake not just by loud talking but also by lots of fights and arguments between each other. Cabin crew did absolutely nothing to stop this behaviour

I didn't go. I tried to change my flight with you but your operatives were unhelpful.They even took $150 out of my account by mistake. Causing me to cancel my bank card. I have not had fefund.booked new flight Malaysian airline
