Caribbean Airlines

About Caribbean Airlines

Caribbean Airlines operates from two main hubs at Norman Manley International Airport and Piarco International Airport, and has its headquarters situated in Piarco, Trinidad and Tobago. Cheddi Jagan International Airport and John F. Kennedy International Airport is where its focus cities are located. It has a fleet size of 18 aircraft that fly to 17 destinations in the Caribbean and further afield. In 2011 it made the decision to acquired Air Jamaica, which now operates as a subsidiary airline.

Caribbean Airlines flies to the Jamaican destinations of Montego Bay and Kingston as well as Bridgetown in Barbados. It also serves routes to Georgetown in Guyana, Castries in Saint Lucia and St. John's in Antigua and Barbuda. Some of the other destinations it flies to include Toronto Pearson International Airport in Canada as well as Miami International Airport and Orlando International Airport in the United States of America. The Venezuelan city of Caracas is also serviced by the airline.

Online check-in

Online check-in is available for all Caribbean Airlines flights and allows passengers to save time at the airport by not having to wait in long queues on the date of departure. In order to check in online, passengers must enter their gender, the fight route and their passport details. During the check-in process, a passenger can review their confirmation details, make changes to the seat they are sitting in and add their Caribbean Miles number. Once check in has been completed, it will be possible to print the boarding pass directly, or have it sent to an email address to be printed off at a later date.

Hand luggage allowance

On all Caribbean Airlines flights, passengers are allowed to take 1 piece of luggage on board with them as well as a personal item such as a laptop, camera or purse. The luggage must however not weigh more than 10 kg and should not be larger than 114 cm when all dimensions are added together. The dimensions of the personal item should also not be larger than 91 cm when added together. Luggage that exceeds the stipulated size and weight limitations will incur a fee, with the exact amount of this charge being dependent on the flight route the passenger is travelling. Liquids are allowed on board as long as each container holds no more than 100 ml.

Checked baggage allowance

The amount of checked baggage a passenger is allowed to take with them on Caribbean Airlines flights is dependent on what type of ticket they have purchased and, in some cases, the flight route they are travelling. Business Class passengers are allowed 3 pieces of checked luggage weighing up to 23 kg whilst Economy Class Flex passengers are allowed 2 pieces. No piece of luggage should be larger than 157 cm when all dimensions are added together. Checked luggage that exceeds the size and weight limitations will incur a fee which will be calculated according to the type of ticket the passenger has as well as their flight route.
