Ryanair’s baggage policy is not clear. My bag was an inch over the maximum permitted size, so I paid to have it go in the hold. However I was unable to leave it in the baggage drop at Manchester and risked being charged an extra fee for taking it on board. In the event I slipped into the ‘priority’ queue and no-one seemed to notice. BUT I had paid £80 unnecessarily!
