About Cayman Airways

The largest airline and national flag carrier of the Cayman Islands, Cayman Airways is based in the island Grand Cayman, from which it operates non-stop flights to a number of popular tourist destinations across the USA. Non-stop connections to international tourist hotspots in Jamaica, Cuba and Honduras are also operated by the airline.

Government owned since December 1977, Cayman Airways is headquartered in George Town, Grand Cayman. Using the slogan "Those who fly us love us", all flights longer than 2 hours in duration operated by the airline provide passengers with a complimentary Tortuga rum punch — a signature cocktail of the Cayman Islands! The airline currently boasts a fleet of 7 Boeing 737 aircraft and has over 300 employees. 4 new Boeing 737 MAX 8 jetliners are planned to be progressively introduced to the airline's fleet between 2018 and 2020.

Online check-in

Online check-in is not possible for Cayman Airways flights, though passengers flying from Owen Roberts Airport have the option to check in directly at the airport terminal the day prior to departure. Early check-in is available between 5-7pm every evening.

Check-in from all other airports is available between 2 hours and 45 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Cayman Airways passengers who are late for check-in will not be permitted onto the aircraft, so it is strongly advised that travellers arrive at the airport early to ensure they do not get caught in any long queues that prevent them from boarding their flight.

Hand luggage allowance

All passengers traveling on a Cayman Airways flight are permitted 1 item of hand luggage as long as it does not weigh more than 19 kg and its dimensions are no greater than 9 x 13 x 23 cm. All items of hand luggage that exceed the specified weight or size restrictions will be placed in the hold for an additional fee.

Liquids in containers with a maximum capacity of 100 ml are allowed to be carried on board as hand luggage. All liquid containers must fit into a see-through re-sealable plastic bag and the total volume of liquid may not exceed 1 liter.

Checked baggage allowance

Passengers on Cayman Airways flights may check-in 2 items of luggage in the aircraft's hold for free. The maximum weight of each individual item of checked luggage should not exceed 25 kg in weight, or 157 cm in size.

Musical instruments, sporting equipment, bicycles and other items of special baggage may be checked in for an additional fee, while baby strollers and wheelchairs can also be transported free of charge. Additional baggage items and weight allowances can be purchased during the booking process, or at the airport before the Cayman Airways flight's departure.

Flight times changed 3 times from booking flight to going. Delayed out going flight so arrived really late. No complimentary rum punch on way out just water or juice. Return flight all good.
