About Loganair
Proudly branded as Scotland’s Airline, Loganair is Scotland's largest regional airline. Having commenced operations in 1962, Loganair is the longest established airline in the UK. Loganair operates a fleet of 29 aircraft with a variety of different aircraft types, including the Saab 340, Saab 2000, Embraer 145, Britten Normander, win Otter, as well as the Dornier 328. These types are especially suited to the various airports that Loganair's aircraft fly to and from. Loganair’s main base is located at Glasgow Airport. They also have hubs located at Aberdeen Airport, Kirkwall Airport, Edinburgh Airport, and Dundee Airport. They began to offer their popular route from Dundee to London Stanstead after CityJet ceased routes from Dundee to London City. Loganair's flights from Glasgow to Donegal are now operated by Aer Lingus. Loganair offers flights to over 200 national and international destinations in collaboration with codeshare partners, which include bmi regional (Flybmi) and British Airways.
Loganair provides services to many remote areas within Scotland, and they offer reduced airfare rates under Scotland's Air Discount Scheme (ADS) for those that reside in eligible areas. The ADS is a program offered by the Scottish Government aimed to make air travel more affordable for residents of remote areas. Discount fares are also available for students who live away from their homes during studies. In addition, Loganair also offers "Compassionate Fares" for passengers that need to visit seriously ill relatives, as well as passengers that need to attend funerals.
How do I check-in online with Loganair?
Loganair's online check-in procedure is straightforward. To check-in online, simply follow these easy steps:
Select the "ONLINE CHECK-IN" option, which is listed under the "FLIGHT INFORMATION" tab on the top of Loganair's website.
Click the checkbox to acknowledge Logainair's prohibited item policy regarding dangerous items. A link to the policy page is available for those who wish to review the policy.
Next, type in your flight details, including your surname and booking number.
Online check-in is available up to 96 hours prior to your flight. Passengers who booked Loganair flights operated by bmi regional can check-in online at their website. These include flights between Aberdeen and Norwich, Bristol, Oslo, and Esbjerg. Airport check-in opens two hours prior to flight departure times and closes 30 minutes before to departure.
What is my checked baggage allowance on Loganair?
Loganair's allowed baggage policy depends on your ticket class and destination. For most flights, Fly and Fly Flex tickets provide up to 20kgs and Fly Flex+ allows up to 30kgs of checked baggage. For flights to Orkney, as well as Barra, Tiree, and Campbeltown, baggage allowance is up to 15kg. For those with onward flights connecting via British Airways, the baggage allowance is up to 23kgs per person per piece. Baggage must be properly secured and include labels with your full name and the address of your final destination.
What hand luggage can I take on Loganair?
Loganair's Fly and Fly Flex ticket holders are entitled to one hand luggage free of charge. Fly Flex+ customers may also bring a laptop computer on board. The maximum size dimensions for carry-on hand luggage is 40cm x 35cm x 18cm, and carry-on items should not exceed 6kg in weight. This policy is to ensure that personal items can be safely accommodated inside overhead bins or under your seat. It’s strongly recommended that important documents and valuables, such as jewellery or cash, are carried with you in hand luggage, rather than inside checked baggage.
Items that are considered security risks should be placed inside checked baggage to avoid being confiscated during security checks inside the airports.

Items that are considered a security risk include toy guns, knives, scissors, and other sharp objects. Items that are considered dangerous include lithium batteries. These must be carried in your hold luggage; they’re not allowed in hand luggage. Other dangerous goods cannot be brought onto the aircraft at all.
