About Scandinavian Airlines
Scandinavian Airlines, also known as SAS Airlines, is a joint flag carrier airline for Denmark, Norway and Sweden, with headquarters located in Solna, Sweden. It has hubs in all three countries, even though its primary base is in Sweden, situated at Copenhagen Airport in Denmark, Stockholm Arlanda Airport in Sweden and Oslo Gardermoen Airport in Norway. SAS Airlines has further operations at Stavanger Airport, Bergen Airport, Trondheim Airport and Goteborg Landvetter Airport. It was founded in 1946 by the joining of three countries' individual flag carriers, which were at the time, Det Norske Luftfartselskap in Norway, Svensk Interkontinental Lufttrafik in Sweden and Det Danske Luftfartselskab in Denmark.
Today the SAS airline has a fleet of more than 130 aircraft and operates flights to nearly 120 airports around the world. Some of its most popular flights are those to London, Alicante, Beijing and Washington D.C. It was involved in the founding of the Star Alliance in 1997 and remains a member to this day. Besides its alliance membership, the airline also operates codeshares with Icelandair, Etihad Airways, airBaltic and Nextjet.

SAS airlines offer an online check-in service for its passengers' convenience. This service is available from 22 hours up until 1 hour prior to a flight's scheduled departure time. It also allows passengers to perform various other time saving tasks online, such as choose their seat, add to their luggage allowance or pay for luxury lounge access at the airport. After they have checked in online, passengers can print their own boarding cards or those of other passengers on their ticket. If they have luggage to check in, this can be done at self-service kiosks at the airport, or at a counter where check in is also available.
