All passengers are subject to Brussels Airlines Baggage Policy, and your free checked baggage allowance depends on the class of ticket you buy. For short haul flights within Europe, there are four ticket classes. Check&Go ticket holders have no free baggage allowance, Light&Relax and Flex&Fast ticket holders have a free allowance of one bag weighing no more than 23 kg. Bizz&Class ticket holders have a free allowance of two bags, each weighing no more than 32 kg. For long haul, intercontinental flights, there are two ticket classes: Economy class and Business class. Economy ticket holders are given a free baggage allowance of one bag weighing not more than 23 kg, while business class ticket holders enjoy a free baggage allowance of two bags, each weighing no more than 32 kg.
If you’re checked baggage exceeds the free allowance in weight and/or number of pieces, excess charges will be applied, but you should note that regardless of your ticket class, the maximum number of pieces you can take is limited to five pieces. In addition, any baggage that is larger than 158 cm in combined height, width and length can’t be checked in unless you have previously paid for its carriage via the Brussels Airlines Service Centre or via their social media presence on Facebook or Twitter. Another thing to keep in mind is that if your flight, or any part of it, is being operated by one of Brussels Airlines code share partners, your baggage allowance may be subject to the conditions applied by that particular airline. Brussels Airlines, in compliance with international law, places restrictions on items that are considered dangerous or a security risk. These include anything that may present a fire or explosive risk. Full details are published in the Conditions of Carriage on the Brussels Airlines website.
