About Corsair
Corsair is one of France’s top carriers, operating as a subsidiary of TUI Airlines. It’s a relatively young company, having been launched in 1981. The TUI acquisition carried it into entirely new territory, turning it into one of the premier tour operator groups in the world. Corsair flies to international and domestic destinations, including West Africa and Senegal. This allows the airline to offer one-stop check-ins for connecting flights. Its growth has been rapid and impressive, and today it owns 207 wide-bodied planes. After Nouvelles Frontieres acquired Corsair, it gained impressive traffic rights that allowed it to expand into the Mediterranean and Canada in 2008. It followed by adding Miami to its routes. Shortly thereafter, it modernised its operations and refurbished many of its cabins. Corsair signed an interline agreement with Emirates in 2013, bringing UAE travellers more convenience and extra routes. It also has a codeshare agreement with Air Canada. A take-over negotiation with Air Caraibes in 2015 was ultimately set aside, so Corsair remains a largely unpartnered airline. It has a relatively small fleet of large aircraft, including two airbuses and a Boeing 747-400 that caters towards 533 passengers.
How do I check in online with Corsair?
The Corsair check-in process won’t take up much of your time. The browser-based and app-based sites let you print your boarding card or carry it on your smartphone. Unlike most carriers, you can check in a full 48 hours before your flight, but this must be done within at least two hours of scheduled take-off. Your e-ticket lets you select a seat and check in for the flight you intend returning on. All you need is your reservation or e-ticket number before you check your luggage in and proceed to the security checkpoints. Children and passengers using medical devices should check in in person. As Transavia Airlines suggests, disabled passengers should check in 2.5 hours prior to their scheduled departure. Orly South Airport even has an automated identity check-in process as part of its PARAFE Programme, which lets you scan your passport and process your own biometric data.
What is my checked baggage allowance on Corsair ?
The Corsair baggage allowance varies by destination but is generally limited to 23 kg per economy class traveller. Premium and Business class passengers may carry 32 kgs of hold luggage in the form of two carriers. If you’re carrying more than 158 cm, a surcharge will apply and is payable at the airport on the day of your departure. Explosives such as flares and fireworks aren’t allowed in hold luggage. Inflammable fluids and solids, along with compressed gas cartridges, are restricted. Banned toxic items include anaesthetics and insecticides. Corrosives like batteries and self-propelling objects may not be carried into the cabin or in hold luggage. Munitions are a new limitation. Dry ice is allowed as long as its packaging allows for C02 release and doesn’t exceed 2.5 kg. If you’re travelling with children younger than 23 months, they must be accompanied by an adult. Cribs are offered free of charge, and pushchairs can be carried without an extra fee. Flight crew will help you to warm bottles and meals, but it’s advised that you bring care products along for the trip. A baby pack is provided, which includes a changing table, meal, and dessert.
What hand luggage can I take on Corsair?
The Corsair hand luggage size limit is 12 kg for economy travellers and 18 kg for premium and business travellers. Each luggage item should be a maximum of 55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm. New European regulations require the airline to restrict cabin fluids, whether in gel or paste form. Baby foods, supplements, and prescriptions are allowed but must be carried with a doctor’s letter, prescription, or proof of purchase. Because batteries and electric appliances often conceal hazardous materials, these aren’t covered by Corsair’s insurance. If you’re travelling with diving torches and cylinders, they must be stored away from their power sources and packed with hand luggage. If you’re travelling with pets, they must be older than four months and accompanied by certificates of vaccination. Some dog breeds are restricted, so always check the details of these limitations before you arrive at the airport. Sports equipment and musical instruments can be carried in the hold. Weapons and ammunition may only be carried in checked-in luggage. Disabled passengers must inform Corsair of their need for help 48 hours before their flights.
Where does Corsair fly from?
Corsair destinations are dominated by direct flights, but the airline covers a few interesting routes to South America and the islands around Madagascar. The nature of its fleet means it focuses on carrying more travellers less often than larger airlines. If Corsair doesn’t cover your desired route, Air Corsica has a small list of national destinations.
The long stop over in Guadeloupe makes the flight take far longer than necessary. I wasn't on the plane for much over an hour but the journey took more than three
