Air Namibia

About Air Namibia

The government of Namibia is the sole owner of Air Namibia, and is the country's national flag carrier. It has its headquarters in Windhoek, which is Namibia's capital city, and operates 2 major hubs. 1 hub, located at Windhoek Hosea Kutako International Airport, is used for international routes while the other at Windhoek Eros Airport is used solely for domestic routes. The company was founded in 1946 under the name South West Air Transport. It has a fleet of 10 Airbus and Embraer aircraft.

Air Namibia flights go to more than 36 destinations, both within Namibia and further abroad. The airline's international flights serve other African countries as well as European nations. Major routes for Air Namibia flights include London Heathrow, Johannesburg and Frankfurt. The company is a member of the African Airlines Association. It has a codeshare agreement with Kenya Airways on 2 routes, plus Johannesburg to Nairobi and Lusaka to Nairobi.

Online check-in

Passengers wishing to check in online for an Air Namibia flight can do so in English, German or Portuguese for their convenience. Passengers can either use their name and e-ticket number or the credit card they used to pay for the booking to check in online. When online check-in is completed, passengers can print their boarding passes. Online check-in is not available on Air Namibia flights to or from Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, Luanda in Angola or Maun in Botswana. A second option is to check in using one of the self-service counters at the airport. These are available at Frankfurt, Cape Town and Johannesburg.

Hand luggage allowance

A passenger's fare class determines their luggage allowance on an Air Namibia flight. Economy class passengers are allowed to bring 1 piece of luggage into the cabin of the airplane. This must not weigh more than 8 kg and should not exceed 55 x 38 x 20 cm in size. Passengers with Business class tickets are allowed 2 hand luggage items, each of which is subject to a maximum weight of 8 kg and maximum dimensions of 55 x 38 x 20 cm. In addition to this, all passengers may bring items including coats, laptop bags, camera bags, handbags, umbrellas and wheelchairs onto the airplane. Infants are also allowed 1 item of hand luggage as well as a stroller.

Checked baggage allowance

On an Air Namibia flight from Europe to Africa or vice versa, checked baggage allowances stipulate that 1 item weighing up to 23 kg per person for Economy passengers and 2 items weighing up to 32 kg each for Business class passengers is permitted on these flights. The maximum size for checked baggage on Air Namibia flights is a combined width, height and length of no more than 158 cm. On flights within Africa, passengers in both classes are entitled to 2 items of checked luggage, although the maximum weight per item remains the same. Infants who do not have their own seat are allowed 1 item of checked luggage with a weight of up to 10 kg, as well as a car seat and a stroller.

I'm surprised by this blind automation. You know very well the route was cancelled and I'm still fighting to recover my money. You better look at your system and put some human brain in here. Otherwise you're lost:(
