About Tacv Cabo Verde Airlines
Founded in 1958, TACV Cabo Verde Airlines is the flag carrier of Cape Verde and has its headquarters in the country's capital city, Praia. Its main hubs are located at Amílcar Cabral International Airport and Praia International Airport and its focus destinations are São Pedro Airport and Lisbon's Portela Airport. The airlines it has codeshare agreements with are TAP Portugal, TAAG Angola Airlines and Cabo Verde Express. It currently has a fleet of 5 aircraft that operate flights to 19 destinations around the world.
TACV Cabo Verde Airlines services a number of cities in Cape Verde such as Sao Vicente, Boa Vista, Santiago and Sal. It also flies to the Brazilian destinations of Recife and Fortaleza as well as Dakar in Senegal. The airline also flies to a number of European destinations including the cities of Amsterdam and Rotterdam in the Netherlands, Porto and Lisbon in Portugal and Las Palmas and Madrid in Spain.
Online check-in
Currently it is not possible for passengers to check in online to TACV flights. Therefore, passengers are advised to make sure they arrive at the airport in good time to avoid missing their flight. Check in at the airport is available 24/7.
For domestic TACV flights, check-in is available up to 90 minutes before the departure of the flight, whilst for regional flights, the deadline is 2 hours prior to departure. For international flights, passengers should have checked in 3 hours before the scheduled departure time unless flying to the United States, in which case the deadline is 4 hours before the flight departs.
Hand luggage allowance
All passengers flying on a TACV flight are allowed to take 1 piece of hand luggage with them on board as long as it does not weigh more than 5 kg and is not larger than 55 x 35 x 25 cm, or 115 cm when all dimensions have been added together.
Along with the piece of hand luggage, TACV passengers are also allowed to take a smaller personal item with them on board such as a laptop bag or handbag. Hand baggage should be placed in the overhead locker above the passenger's head whilst smaller items should be able to fit in the space under the seat in front of them.
Checked baggage allowance
The amount of checked luggage a passenger is allowed to take with them on TACV flights is dependent on the type of ticket they have purchased and the route they are travelling. For domestic flights within Cape Verde, passengers with basic tickets do not have any hold baggage allowance, whilst all other passengers are allowed to take up to 20 kg with them.
For those travelling on a TACV flight between Cabo Verde and Portugal, are allowed to transport 2 pieces weighing up to 23 kg, whilst passengers travelling between Brazil and Europe are allowed 1 piece, also up to 23 kg. Passengers should ensure they label their luggage with their name and address.
