About Flynas

flynas is a Saudi Arabian budget carrier headquartered in Riyadh. It is the first and so far only low-cost airline to set up operations in Saudi Arabia, and is majority owned by National Air Services. It was set up in 2007, before which Saudi Arabian Airlines was the country's sole air carrier. It has operating bases at both King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. It was originally known as Nasair but changed its name to the current brand in 2013.

At present, flynas serves more than 20 destinations using its fleet of 26 Airbus A320 planes on both domestic and international routes. These routes cover the Middle East, Asia and Africa, with some of the most popular destinations being the cities of Abu Dhabi, Medina and Dubai. It also operates Hajj pilgrimage flights to Jeddah, which are also popular with passengers. Etihad and Pegasus Airlines both have codeshare agreements with the airline.

Online check-in

Passengers can check in online from 48 hours up until 6 hours before a flynas flight is scheduled to take-off. After checking in, passengers can either print out their boarding card or download it to their mobile device, such as a smartphone or tablet. Seat selection also forms part of the online check-in process for passengers. If they cannot check in online or prefer not to, the airline's airport check-in counters are open from 5 hours until 45 minutes before a flight's departure time. As they will take longer to process for check-in, passengers on a group booking are asked to check in a minimum of 4 hours before take-off.

Hand luggage allowance

On all flynas flights passengers are allowed 1 piece of hand luggage. This may weigh up to 7 kg and should be smaller than 56 x 36 x 23 cm. If it is small enough to fit beneath the plane's seats, passengers may also take a laptop bag or handbag on board their flight. Any items exceeding this allowance, whether in terms of number of items, weight or size, must be checked in. Depending on their checked luggage allowance, passengers may face an additional fee for this. Infants do not have a hand luggage allowance on the airline's flights.

Checked baggage allowance

Passengers may have different checked baggage allowance on their flynas flight depending on their fare type. Economy passengers are allowed 1 item of checked luggage no larger than 75 x 50 x 33 cm and weighing no more than 20 kg. On all Cairo flights, the weight limit for Economy passengers is increased to 30 kg. Business class passengers are allowed 2 items of checked luggage, with each of these being limited to a maximum weight of 25 kg plus a maximum size of 75 x 50 x 33 cm. Passengers will be charged for excess baggage if they exceed these limitations. Safety regulations also prevent the airline from handling items of luggage that weigh more than 32 kg.
