Volaris is Mexico's second biggest carrier eclipsed only by Aeromexico. It is headquartered in Mexico City, the country's capital, and has its main hub located at Benito Juarez International Airport. Its other hubs can be found at General Mariano Escobedo International Airport in Monterrey, General Abelardo L. Rodriguez International Airport in Tijuana and Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla International Airport in Guadalajara. It was founded in 2004 and commenced operations in 2005. It then began offering international flights in 2009, starting with services to Los Angeles and Oakland. It owns a fleet of over 60 Airbus aircraft.
Volaris operates flights to more than 60 airports across the Americas, around two-thirds of which are domestic destinations within Mexico. In addition to Los Angeles and Cancun, which are focus cities for the airline, its flights to Acapulco, Dallas, New York and Puerto Vallarta are also popular. Its only codeshare agreement is with the German airline Condor.
