The budget carriers have revolutionised the art of “hand baggage only” short-haul travel and though there is much debate over their strict policies, little by little the norm is changing to less is more when it comes to flying, especially when it means you can save a few pounds.
British Airways is taking advantage of the increased popularity in travelling light and has introduced special discounted fares to five destinations out of London Gatwick. The average savings to board with cabin luggage only, which includes one suitcase measuring up to 56cm x 45cm x 25cm, plus a laptop and a handbag, can save you between £9-15.
The current British Airways destinations out of Gatwick that offer the hand baggage only fare are:
- Amsterdam
- Dubrovnik
- Jersey
- Tunis
- Turin
In the future, BA plans to offer this special fare for all Gatwick short-haul flights.
What do you think? Should all traditional airlines offer this special fare?
