Advent is a season filled with joy and heart-warming moments, a time when families come together and cities shine with festive lights and decorations.
We’re feeling relatively festive today, so without further ado, we bring you the cities with the most beautiful, elaborate and tacky Christmas decorations!
New York
If you’ve booked your flights to New York for December or early January, you’re in for a treat! With its spectacularly festive decorations, like the ginormous Christmas tree in front of the Rockefeller Center, New York is truly magical this time of year. We particularly liked these immense red Christmas baubles.
London
Bearing in mind the season and the typical British weather, these beautiful umbrellas and parcels on the streets of London are both festive and appropriate!
Tokyo
It’s true that Tokyo has a reputation for having a ridiculously large amount of neon signs, but we didn’t think it was possible for the Japanese capital to shine any brighter. Turns out we were wrong!
Rio de Janeiro
Rio de Janeiro is also festively decorated this time of year, and this Christmas tree water fountain is definitely one of our favourites.
Paris
Not many installations are as complex or as elaborate as the ones set up at the Lafayette shopping centre in Paris. And with decorations like these, who could say no to another round of Christmas shopping?
Berlin
And then of course there’s Berlin! This “Star Catcher” installation was set up in front of the train station (Hauptbahnhof) back in 2010.
In your opinion, which city has the most incredible Christmas decorations? Drop us a comment!
