Meet Taylor Tippett! The travel blogger and an American Airlines flight attendant based in Washington D.C. who’s behind the amazing project Words from the window seat.
She started this project about a year ago when she was preparing for an early flight, sitting in the back of the empty plane and getting ready to start a new day. She started thinking about her life and all the times that she had overcome. She realised that she wasn’t being really nice to herself and how important it is to love oneself. She started giving herself a pep talk, found a notebook and a sharpie and just wrote down “Be kind to yourself.”
On the spur of the moment, she decided to paste the note on one of the windows and uploaded it to Instagram. It instantly got thousands of likes and comments and therefore decided to make a project with her personal pep talks. That’s how Words from the window seat was born!
It soon became a hit on Instagram where she accured over 122,000 followers and spawned a hashtag and copycats. Her followers are from all around the world and come from all walks of life. But according to Taylor, the most inspiring and sincerest comments are from young women who have gone through the same.
Taylor tries to upload a picture at least once per trip, using quotes that have inspired her to reflect on something while travelling or talking to people. “If I’m not encouraging and inspiring others, what am I doing with my life? What am I doing with my time here?” said Tipett to Seeker Stories.
