“I still don’t know why, exactly, but I do think people can have a spiritual connection to landscape, and I certainly did in Iceland.” – Hannah Kent, Australian writer.

Iceland is one of the most beautiful and thrilling countries when it comes to amazing landscapes and it’s the perfect destination for Nature Lovers, so it’s no surprise that Hannah Kent felt a special connection to mother nature…

It’s also known as “Land of Fire and Ice” due to the presence of hot volcanoes and cold icebergs and it would most certainly win an award for “Most Photogenic Destination”. That’s one of the reasons why we want to show you a quick photo tour of Iceland seen through the filters of Instagram. So, let’s start: Iceland in Instagram.

Gullfoss Waterfall

Iceland’s most famous waterfall is also known as “The Golden Waterfall” and it’s an unforgettable experience to see the force of nature plummeting water down 30 meters into the canyon. This scenario gets better on sunny days thanks to a bright and colorful rainbow that can be spotted over the falls.

You have to see that with your own eyes?

Blue Lagoon

It’s one of the most visited attractions in Iceland. This man-made lagoon contains warm waters that are rich in minerals and in some cases help to cure skin diseases. The water in this geothermal spa has an average temperature of 37–39 °C and if you’re wondering why it’s colored in blue, the answer is related to the way that one of the ingredients – silica – reflects the sunlight.

Geysir – “a vent in Earth’s surface that periodically ejects a column of hot water and steam”. In the case of “The Great Geysir” in southwestern Iceland, the water can go up to 70 meters in the air when there’s an eruption.
