Kitesurfing in Tarifa

We’ve already mentioned it. Tarifa is a true kitesurf mekka. People from everywhere in the world travel to this place to rock the water and be one with the elements. But not only professionals will have a good time. There’s plenty of schools which will get you riding in just a few days. The constant wind makes it very easy for beginners to progress.

Tarifa’s nightlife

Just as Tarifa is known for watersports, it’s known for its nightlife. The old city is full of laidback surfer bars, clubs and pubs. After a great day on the beach you’ll see masses of people flocking towards the center to have some beers, meet likeminded people and just share the experiences of today. We recommend to watch the sunset in the El Chiringuito Lounge bar. Here you’ll not only enjoy a magnificent view over the sunset and the coast of morocco, but also get some one-of-a-kind cocktails.

Hiking

Also apart from the beaches, the nature of Tarifa is simply breathtaking. There are various hikes for all levels. For starters we’d recommend the hike from Tarifa to Santuario, which takes you along rivers, mountains, forests and little lagoons for a splash.

Roadtrippin’

There’s lots to explore around Tarifa. Little authentic Spanish villages, plenty of beaches, national parks and of course lots of good food and drinks. If you’re heading west, you should definitely pass by the Duna de Valdevaqueros. A massive dune with cute olive tree forests around it. Further up the cost you’ll drive through national parks and towards Bolonia which is another cute village with a massive beach and dune.

Kick back and relax

With all the action, party, sports, foods and drinks there’s another important task not to be forgotten. Just relax! Grab a cold one, your beach towel, some sunscreen and find your personal happy place. There’s more than enough!

This list could go on and on… whale watching, a trip to morocco, diving and so forth. But some things are just better to be experienced than just read 😉
