10. Lascaux Caves (France)
Discovered by a teenager in the 1940´s, this extraordinary cave is known for its Paleolithic cave paintings which are estimated to be over 17,300 years old. This landmark was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1979.
Fun Fact: The cave is partially closed to preserve the art but visitors can explore various rooms such as the Hall of the Bulls, the Shaft, the Chamber of Felines, the Apse, the Nave and the Passageway.
